Day 23


Breakfast: egg & veggie scramble with pico de gallo and avocado. Lunch: leftover spaghetti squash with meat sauce. Dinner: sirloin with a double order of broccoli. Snack: 2 larabars. Yeah two. I ain’t proud of it.

My great Aunt Lou passed yesterday morning at the ripe old age of 95. It’s worth mentioning that she was a beautiful person inside and out. Anyone who lives past their 80’s has performed a tremendous accomplishment. Went to the family’s visitation this evening near my dads house about an hour away.

Afterwards we went to the nearest place for dinner – O’Charleys. I was initially optimistic since every place seems to at least have a decent grilled chicken salad. Alas, this menu was ridiculous to work with. Sirloin with steamed broccoli didn’t measure up and tasted like butter. Day 23 is about to be tossed into my fuggedaboutit folder. It’s not always possible to control every aspect of your meals or circumstances or life for that matter. Sometimes you just have to do the best you can with what you have, even if it’s not what you planned.
